The Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senator Dr. George Akume, FNIM over the weekend celebrated his son, Dr. Michael Aondohemba George Akume on the occasion of his successful completion of a Doctor of Philosophy Degree( Ph.D) in Economics from the Nile University, Abuja.
The Honourable Minister was joined at the occasion by friends, family members, party associates,colleagues and well wishers from far and near.
Speaking at the occasion, the celebrant, Dr. Aondohemba Michael George Akume dedicated himself and his academic attainment to the glory of the Almighty God.
Dr. Aondohemba Akume further thanked his father and mum, Senator Dr. George Akume and Chief Mrs. Regina Mbavekumtor George Akume,JP for affording him the best parental upbringing of love,care and protection within their capacity as parents for him to be what and who he is today. He prayed God to continually be with and protect the family of Senator George Akume.The celebrant also thanked all supporters, party associates, friends and well wishes of the family of Senator George Akume to always put the them in prayers and goodwill, regardless of their shortcomings as humans.
In their goodwill messages, Dr. Mrs. Maduka of the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Chief Mike Kaase Aondoakaa,SAN Hon. Barrister Sam Ode,Mni,Chief Steven Lawani, OFR, Barrister Jacob Ajene,Chief Dr. Mathias Byuan, Architect Bernard Yisa,etc all thanked God for the life of Dr. Aondohemba George Akume and prayed God to grant him long and prosperity.
In his response,Senator Dr. George Akume, FNIM gave thanks to God for the life of his son, Dr. Aondohemba Akume, while praying for more blessings, mercies and protection to him. He further extended his deepest appreciation to all his friends, part supporters, colleagues and well wisher for making out time to share in the joy of his son, encouraging his party associates and faithful to pray and support the visionary leadership of His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR and the APC for the lofty projects and programmes of the government to Nigerians, which include massive physical infrastructural projects, human welfare and services and on the going stiff fight against insecurity in Nigeria,etc.
Senator George Akume on behalf of the APC family and supporters in Benue specifically thanked Mr. President for the establishment of three federal academic institutions in Benue State,the construction and renovation of federal roads across the state,the School Feeding Programme,the security commitment of the “Operation Ayem A Kpatuma” and that of Whirstroke, the appointment of Benue indigenes into federal government positions, the N-Power programmes, the creation of 1000 jobs through the public works initiative,the Youth Investment Fund,among several other initiatives that targeted at getting over 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next ten years. The Honourable Minister added that all APC faithful and huge supporters should intensify their support and protection of the party’s interest in the best way they can.
The occasion also witnessed the presentation of award to the Honourable Minister as the Pillarbof North Central And Benue Amazon by the famous Benue Amazons Group.
