Senator George Akume attended a two day Presidential Retreat alongside other members of the Federal Executive Council on the 19th August 2019.

The Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs,Distinguished Senator George Akume undertook his first official public function by participating in the Nigerian Local Government Summit, 2019 organized by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on the 3rd of September 2019.

The Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nigeria, His Excellency, LEE In Tae on a working visit on the 19th September, 2019.

On the 21st day of August, 2019 Distinguished Senator George Akume was sworn in as the Honourable Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari,GCFR.
