The Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs,Senator Dr. George Akume,fnim congratulates Professor Mahmoud Yakubu on his reappointment as Chairman of the Independent National Election Commission by President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
 
Senator George Akume notes,with joy,that the reappointment of Professor Mahmoud Yakubu for a second term as the head of the electoral umpire is a clear indication of the satisfaction and affirmation of his of proven integrity,rationality,trust and confidence in the handling of the affairs of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) in the last five last years.
 
Senator George Akume further states that Nigeria’s emerging democracy requires the capacity of an electoral umpire that would continually offer and build on the foundations and dividends of free, fair and credible elections to Nigerians. On this, the Honourable Minister expresses confidence in the capacity of Professor Mahmoud Yakubu to deliver on the terms of his reappointment.
 
On behalf of his family and staff of the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs,Senator George Akume extends his warm felicitations to the reappointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
 
Senator George Akume prays that God will give Professor Mahmood Yakubu more strength,good health and guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities to Nigerians
