NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA VISITS SENATOR GEORGE AKUME, COMMENDS PRESIDENT BUHARI’S COMMITMENT TO JOB CREATION, POVERTY ERADICATION AND YOUTH EMPLOYMENT

The National Youth Council of Nigeria has commended Muhammadu Buhari’s preparedness and definite commitment to uplifting Nigerian youth out of poverty through job and wealth creation,youth empowerment and employment opportunities.

This was stated yesterday at the instance of the of the official visit to the Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmentsl Affairs,Senator(Dr) George Akume,fnim by the National Executive Council members of the National Youth Council,headed by Comrade Solomon Adodo.

 

The National President of the youth organization,Comrade Adodo Solomon said the visit to the Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmentsl Affairs was to identify, key into and pledge her support to President Muhammadu Buhari’s visionary leadership style and programmes in shaping a better future for Nigerian youth. The youth members who variously extolled the lofty policy programmes and strategies of the present government in actualizing the yearnings and aspirations of the Nigerian youth, such as the Social Investment Programme (SIP),the N-Power Programme,the signing of the “Not Too Young To Run” Bill into law and the current policy package of the government to employ 774,000 Nigerian youth from from the 774 local government areas across the length and breadth of the federation under the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment,further commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s resolute posture in giving the Nigerian youth a new lease of life.

 

The members of the organization further promised to assist and cooperate at all times with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari through the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter- Governmental Affairs in the promotion of realistic democratic culture, ethical values and practices that are in congruous with national growth and integration.

 

In his response, the Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume, fnim expressed appreciation to the youth members for their patriotic character and resolve to supporting the cause of good governance under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

 

Senator George Akume,fnim told the youth members to remain focused and committed to their objectives. He also encouraged the youth members to have faith in President Muhammadu Buhari’s determination to fulfilling his promises to Nigerians in as much as the unforeseen predicament of the COVID 19 has temporarily posed a global threat to the socio-economic stability and survival of most nations of the world today. Senator George Akume,fnim further assured the youth members of every essential support and partnership from his ministry towards the achievement of the objectives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
