the communal clashes recently occurring between the Tiv communities of Abua/Tyomu/Angbaaye and Abinsi in Makurdi/Guma Local Government Areas as well as those of Mbagwaza and Tsambe In Vandeikya/Ushongo Local Government Areas of Benue State respectively.

The Honourable Minister also expressed worry over the massive destruction of lives and property in the affected areas and called on the warring communities to embrace peace as the only preexisting condition for development in their various communities. He exhorted them to always resort to dialogue as the best method of settling disputes in any society.

Dr George Akume who  urged fellow Tiv brethen to adopt elements of communal existence that will promote and establish peace and transformation in Tivland, strongly sued for peace within the Tiv ethnic group.

He further reiterated the need for the Tiv people to deemphasize intra-ethnic identities that have divided the Tiv Nation emphasizing the massive cohesive powers of the spirit of brotherliness, unity and Love.

The Minister further called on all stakeholders in the crises ridden communities to cooperate with relevant authorities in putting an end to the sad developments in Benue state
