SENATOR GEORGE AKUME PAYS SPECIAL HOMAGE ON APC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN, ABDULLAHI ADAMU

Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Sen. George Akume today led prominent members of the All Progressives Congress on a special courtesy visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Abdullahi Adamu at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.

The delegation included party leaders at all levels as well as aspirants seeking elections into various offices on the platform of the APC.

Sen. Akume in his remarks congratulated the former Nassarawa State Governor for emerging the Chairman of the APC and pledged his support, solidarity and loyalty to his leadership.

The Minister also praised the new chairman for his strength of character and commitment to the unity, progress and cohesion of the party, pointing out that Sen. Adamu was equipped with the capacity to reconcile aggrieved members of the party from his experience as the Chairman of the reconciliation committee that was set up by the immediate past leadership of the party.

Sen. Akume also reminded the National Chairman of the challenge posed by the 2023 general elections and the APC's desire to sustain itself beyond 2023 maintaining that the forth coming elections wont be a tea party for the APC. He however expressed confidence in the ability of the new National Chairman to make the party come out victorious.

The minister also assured the National Chairman that the APC in Benue state is waxing stronger with new entrants as members and Benue is ready to return to mainstream politics in Nigeria in 2023.

Responding the National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu thanked Sen. Akume and the delegation for their show of brotherhood, solidarity and love.

He said Benue state was his second home because he has spent most of his childhood and early adulthood in Benue. He went down memory lane as a student in Government College Makurdi and his days at Benue Cement Company where he was a board member.

Sen. Adamu promised that his administration would give Benue state APC the necessary support needed to win back the state in 2023. He said Benue is made up of very hard working people but recently Benue has become a shadow of itself in terms of development and quality of life. He urged members of the APC family in Benue to unite, fight and take back Benue to mainstream politics and put the state on the political map of Nigeria where it rightly belongs.

The Minister was accompanied on the visit by Members of the Benue APC State Executive Committee, critical stakeholders, Serving and past National Assembly members, Aspirants and teeming members of the party.
