AKUME ASSURES PERSONS LIVING WITH DISABILITIES OF PRESIDENT BUHARI'S UNWAVERING SUPPORT

The Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Sen.George Akume, on 9th December, 2021, at Abuja, FCT, has assured Persons Living With Disabilities of President Muhammadu Buhari administration's unwavering support and their economic well-being.

Akume, who represented the Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo at the National Disability Summit, organised by the National Commission For Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) under the supervision of the Ministry of Humanitarian and Disaster Management, noted with satisfaction, the efforts of the Buhari administration in empowering persons living with disabilities.

He reiterated the total support of the Buhari administration in transforming the lives of persons living disabilities through participation and inclusiveness.

The Minister also praised the tenacity and creativity of persons with disabilities and urged them to keep faith in Nigerian project.

Other Distinguished guests at the summit included Senator Tanko Almakura, Minister for Humanitarian and Disaster Management, Sadiya Umar Farouq and other critical stakeholders.

The Theme of the summit is "Leadership and Participation of Persons With Disabilities Towards an Inclusive Accessible and Sustainable Post COVID-19 World."
