SENATOR GEORGE AKUME CALLS FOR FERVENT PRAYERS, COOPERATION AND PATRIOTISM AMONG NIGERIANS AS CHRISTIANS CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST

The Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs,Senator Dr. George Akume Joins Christians all over the world,with joy in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

 

The Honourable Minister stated that the birth of Christ signifies the beginning of forgiveness and salvation for mankind in the face of God and enjoins Christians to emulate and live by the teachings,examples and virtues of Christ,which include humility, love for one another, tolerance, forgiveness and fear of God, as it only through these ways that Christians can receive salvation.

On the recurrence of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in the country,which coincides with the Christmas celebrations for the year 2020,Senator George Akume calls for prayers,cooperation and patriotism by Nigerians in keeping to the protocols guiding and guarding against the scourge in the country. He stressed on the use of face mask, controlled gatherings, washing of hands, social distancing and the use of hand sanitizers,among others.

The Honourable Minister commends the commitments and efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari,GCFR in the fight against COVID- 19 and other emerging socio economic challenges facing the good citizens of the country. Senator Akume expresses confidence in the capacity of Mr. President in delivering on the objectives of the present government within its tenure.

Senator George Akume prays God to be with and protect all Nigerian regardless of religious, tribal and ethnic affiliations as all powers ultimately belongs to Him, while wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year ahead.
