Senator George Akume, Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs.

He is the number one Greatest Leader of our time.
His Leadership has touched so many lives and all facets of People and tribes in Benue and beyond.

His eight year as Governor of Benue state left us with ground breaking real dividends of democracy.
He built for us a state of the arts teaching hospital. Left us with numerous asphalted roads and expanded Makurdi by opening many outlets with road to communities.
He gave Benue people houses built and given to Benue indigens, housing like Judges Quarters, BIPC North Bank, BIPC Nyiman, Owner Occupier. All these houses where contracted to Benue indigens thereby creating financial wealth in the economy of Benue.

He made occupants of Lobi Quarters, Kwararafa Quarters and Mano Quarters official owners of the property at subsidized costs.

He build a jigantic water reservior opposite Makafa part. Initiated and laid the foundation and ground work for the greater Makurdi water works in partnership with the Federal government.

He built general hospitals in almost all the twenty three local governments of Benue and gave employment to thousands of youths and graduates.

He empowered many, both the young and the old. No one is too small for him. Everyone is somebody before him and he is for everybody irrespective of tribe or religion.

He takes you from a nobody and makes you a somebody.

He brought in Haigag and they gave Makurdi the asphalt roads that we see today in Amokachi lane, Iorkyaa Ako street, Vandeikya street, Kastina Ala street, Okpoga street, Konshisha street, David Mark bye pass, Ogbomosho street now called Maj Wende, Inikpi street now called Ogiri Agene, Lagos street and many more streets and roads across the state.

Every name in the political atmosphere in Benue has a touch of his blessings in one way or the other.

He is the greatest and as the leadership stands today, we can say without any fear or favour that he stands tall with the likes of Aper Aku.

He is not perfect like all humans but his good overpowers his bad.

If you stand against Sen George Akume, you will have God to content with now or sooner.

As a result of these enemous influence and impact that Sen George Akume has on all of us, few of us deemed it necessary to honour such a man, and the best way we could give honour to him was to have a Foundation in his name. This gave rise to " GEORGE AKUME FOUNDATION (GAF)".

We did two publications in National Dailies last year, one was to lobby Mr President to appoint him as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and a second publication was to congratulate Mr President for appointing him Minister in his cabinet.

This is a right way to give honour where honour is due.
