The Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senator (Dr) George Akume, represents the President and Commander in Chief of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR at the Regular Session of the ECOWAS Parliament Sitting

The Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs,Senator(Dr) George Akume,yesterday,the 25th of November,2019 represented the President and Commander in Chief of Nigeria,His Excellency,Muhammadu Buhari,GCFR at the Regular Session of the ECOWAS Parlimentary Sitting in Abuja.

The theme of the session which is titled “HUMAN RIGHTS FRAMEWORK AND THE SITUATION OF THE ELDERLY PEOPLE IN AFRICA” is targeted at improving and evolving substantial,reliable and appropriate ways and modalities of providing and protecting the aged and elderly people of African continent in a manner that best suits their statuses and pride.

This all inclusive framework for guaranteeing and protecting the rights,privileges and living conditions of the aged and elderly people in Africa, also gives preference to such elderly people who have distinguished themselves in different ways of their patriotic and developmental service to their immediate societies,ECOWAS and African society in general.

President Muhammadu Buhari,GCFR greatly made a case for the elderly people in Africa at this great occasion.
