The Hon. Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs,Senator George Akume has asked all Muslim Faithfuls and clerics to continue to pray for the peaceful co-existence,unity and progress of Nigeria as they celebrate the EID- el MAULUD. The Hon. Minister stated this in his goodwill message to the Muslim Community as they celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad( S. A. W. ) who lived and stood for the virtues of peace,love and kindness to humanity.
The Hon. Minister also expressed appreciation to the government of President Muhammadu Buhari,GCFR which has frontally confronted Boko Haram fundamentalism and other extremist attacks in Nigeria. The Honourable Minister reiterated that Islam as a religion of peace and love is anchored on religious tolerance which the practice of Boko Haram and its extremist tendencies are at variance to it and must be condemned by all Muslim brothers and sisters.
He therefore, advised all Muslims and Nigerians to continue to pray and support the commitment of Mr. President in protecting the lives and property of Nigerians.
