SENATOR GEORGE AKUME PARTICIPATES IN 2021 SEASONAL CLIMATE PREDICTION ON THE THEME:
“SUPPORTING THE ECONOMY COPE WITH THE CHALLENGES OF COVID-19 GLOBAL PANDEMIC IN NIGERIA “
 
Senator George Akume,fnim,the Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs,yesterday,the 2nd of the February,2021 participated in the 2021 Seasonal Climate Prediction organized by Nigerian Meteorological Agency(NIMET) under the Federal Ministry of Aviation.
 
In his presentation as special guest of honour,Senator George Akume identified the incidence of climate change as orchestrated by human activities in the last 100 years as a major threat to human existence.
 
Senator George Akume expressed appreciations to President Muhammadu Buhari,GCFR among other world leaders who has demonstrated the resilience through multilateral agreements,investment and policy frameworks in the control and management of climate change as a way of reducing extreme poverty in Africa and Nigeria in particular. The Honourable Minister added that the consistent participation and commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari,GCFR to the United Nations General Assembly agreements on climatic is in due recognition of the urgent need to contain and avert its devastating effects on underdevelopment in Africa.
 
The 2021 Seasonal Climate Prediction took place at the NAF Conference Centre,Abuja.
