Condolence Letter

Our hearts ache over the untimely death of your elder brother, Proprietor of Ashi Polytechnic, Anyiin and Ashi Waves Radio Station Katsina-Ala, Chief Dr. Terkura Suswam (Zege Iwanger U Tiv), who was gruesomely murdered by assailants on Tuesday 2nd March, 2021 in his home town of Anyiin, Logo Local Government Area, Benue State.

2. Chief Terkura Suswam, was a philanthropist, a community leader, a dedicated family man, an advocate of peaceful co-existence, a Tiv traditional title holder and an astute businessman who lived and contributed immensely to the economic development of his immediate community and Benue State at large.

3. As a philanthropist, the deceased devoted most of his life to service to humanity. His family support and empowerment initiatives, scholarship schemes as well as employment opportunities to the indigenes of Logo and Sankera community will forever be appreciated. Everyone who knew your brother was touched by his warmth and kindness. His passing will expose the enormity of the difference he made in the lives of others.

4. While it is quite unfortunate that such a peace-loving man was taken from us too soon, it is my conviction that bad things that happen to good people serve a greater good and Chief Terkura’s death, I believe, will teach us the essence of brotherly love and peaceful co-existence. May this painful tragedy never visit us again.

5. On behalf of my family, friends, political associates, Management and Staff of the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, I urge you to take solace in the fact that Dr. Terkura Suswam lived a meaningful and impactful life. I pray that Almighty God will accept his soul and grant him eternal rest.

6. While we miss him here on earth, the Angels walk him home.

Sen. George Akume, fnim, KSJI
