FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SETS TO COLLABORATE AND PROVIDE SUPPORT TO CREDIBLE NON GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS AND THE ORGANIZED PRIVATE SECTOR TOWARDS POVERTY ALLEVIATION AND HUMANITARIAN SERVICES

The Federal Government of Nigeria has assured credible nongovernmental organizations and the organized private sector of its maximum collaborations and support in tackling the incidence of poverty and provision of basic education,primary health care and youth empowerment in the country.

This was made known by the Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs,Senator Dr. George Akume,fnim when he received the founder of Al-Muhibbah Foundation and the First Lady of Bauchi State,Her Excellency,Hajia Aisha Bala Muhammed.

The Honourable Minister emphasized that one of the fundamental objectives of the Buhari-led administration is to squarely attack poverty in all critical fronts of its negative effects on society and human existence. Senator George Akume reiterated government’s resolve to partner and support the private sector and non governmental organizations that are genuinely committed to the cause of poverty eradication, youth empowerment, provision of primary health care and humanitarian services to the less privileged in the society.

On her part, the founder of Al-Muhibbah Foundation and the First Lady of Bauchi State,Hajia Aisha Bala Muhammed stated that her visit to Senator George Akume,fnim was to seek collaborations with the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter- Governmental Affairs in order to key into government agenda of lifting over 100 million Nigerians out of poverty through the Al-Muhibbah Foundation(AMF)

The Al-Muhibbah Foundation (AMF) is a non governmental organization established to serve as means of an integrated life support for the general well being of the less privileged in the society,especially women,children and the youth,addressing their problems and needs. The Foundation also envision providing such support by empowerment through the provision of basic health care,inclusive education,support for the less privileged(especially out of school children )and sustainable community development programmes.
